December 13, 2022 | Version 1.7.1

On Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, we will release Workspace Desktop App, version 1.7.1. 

 

Enhancement:

  • Download option in Explore: Customers using the Explore application can now download reports and dashboards without being prompted with an extra login step. This enhancement aims to improve user experience and efficiency.

Fix:

  • Screen Recording: Fixed an issue with Screen Recording’s media stream capture feature.

On Thursday, November 17th, 2022, we will release Workspace Desktop App, version 1.7.0. 

Workspace Desktop App allows you to run Talkdesk Workspace™ locally on your desktop, separately from your web browser.

 

New:

  • Rollback Option: In case a major issue occurs with a new release, users now have the option to roll back. To do so:
    • You will be automatically prompted with a message to downgrade to a previous version.
    • Once you confirm, the desktop app will be downloaded and installed.
  • Maximize/Restore Window: Users can now double-click the title bar to maximize or restore the window size. 

Enhancements:

  • Progressive Rollouts on Updates: Progressive rollouts were adopted to limit the impact of issues that might occur with a new update.

October 25, 2022 | Version 1.6.5

On Tuesday, October 25th, 2022, we will release Workspace Desktop App, version 1.6.5.

The Workspace Desktop App allows you to run Talkdesk Workspace™  locally on your desktop, separately from your web browser.

 

Enhancements:

  • Keep-on-Top functionality: Previously, the keep-on-top functionality was only applied when using the app in a small or medium size window (up to 960px wide). With this new release, the functionality applies regardless of the window size, providing a more intuitive experience. To enable "keep-on-top", go into the menu profile, select Workspace Settings, and use the toggle.
  • Workspace authentication: Improved the desktop authentication mechanism to ensure the application is compliant with restricted policies configured in firewalls.
  • Observability improvement: Added new system observability logs to provide better support in case of need.

On Wednesday, September 28th, 2022, we will release Workspace Desktop App, version 1.6.4.

Workspace Desktop App allows you to run Talkdesk Workspace™ locally on your desktop, separately from your web browser.

 

Enhancements:

  • Performance Improvement: For an enhanced experience, we eliminated unnecessary processes that led to higher than normal Central Process Unit (CPU) consumption, which degraded the app over time. This app version ensures the CPU consumption is at a lower baseline before, during, and after calls.
  • Observability improvement: Added new operational metrics capabilities, allowing Talkdesk to provide you with better support, in case of need.

On Wednesday, August 31st, 2022, we will release Workspace Desktop App, version 1.6.3. 

New:

  • Click URL to open a link with Case Management: Users with the Case Management app can now open a case link with Workspace Desktop by clicking directly on the URL. Opening via browser is the default option only when the user doesn’t have the desktop application installed.

April 18, 2022 | Version 1.6.0

On Monday, April 18th, 2022, we will release Workspace Desktop App, version 1.6.0.

The Workspace Desktop App allows you to run Talkdesk Workspace™  locally on your desktop, separately from your web browser, and offers additional functionality, such as the ability to keep it on top of other windows.

 

Fixes:

  • Apps that reuse TalkdeskID session in their iframe such as the Admin and Developer apps were triggering an error due to the authorization mechanism. This bug has been fixed allowing the users to access all options available within these apps.
  • The minimum height was updated to 540 px to reflect the new title bar in frameless mode. To optimize the user experience in small viewports and ensure that app content displays correctly, the minimum window resizable width was updated to 424 px.
  • Previously, the “Learn More” link in the Help tab of the Mac desktop versions was pointing to the electron helper documentation. We changed the link to point to the Talkdesk Knowledge Base, which will help users reach out to our support resources easily.

March 24, 2022 | Version 1.5.0

Workspace Desktop App version 1.5.0 will be released on March 24th, 2022.

The Workspace Desktop App allows you to run Talkdesk Workspace™  locally on your desktop, separately from your web browser, and offers additional functionality, such as the ability to keep it on top of other windows.

New:

  • Look and feel: The Workspace Desktop App offers a new look and feel by introducing a new title bar that provides more intuitive access to the Notification Center, User Profile, and User Status. This new layout also enhances the user experience to access Workspace products by keeping the navigation bar less cluttered.

The major changes are:

  • A new title bar, at the top, with a frameless window.:
    • The OS (operating system) controls are now accessible on the new Talkdesk title bar.
  • The color of the dock (sidebar) changes from purple to gray.
  • Three elements previously located in the dock are moved to the title bar in the following positions:
    • Notification Center on the left-hand side.
    • User Status on the right-hand side.
    • User Profile on the right-hand side.
  • User Status: A user status label (e.g., Available) is now displayed, in addition to a status timer and an icon to help agents visualize their overall presence, eliminating the need for extra clicks.

  • Security: We are updating external library dependencies to ensure that the Workspace Desktop App is up-to-date with the latest standard security measures.
  • Controlled rollouts: We are adding a backend enhancement that will allow customers enrolled in the Early Access program of new features to access these features through the Workspace Desktop App.
