Workspace Desktop App: FAQ

Can I deploy the Workspace Desktop App on multiple devices?

Yes. Talkdesk offers a Microsoft Software Installer (MSI) package that allows IT administrators to deploy the Workspace Desktop App across multiple devices or users. This is ideal for enterprise-scale environments and ensures centralized control over app installations. Note that the MSI installer does not support auto-updates, giving IT teams complete control over which version is deployed.

What versions of the Workspace Desktop App are supported?

Each release of the Talkdesk Workspace Desktop App is supported for 90 days. For the most up-to-date version support details, refer to our Workspace Desktop App Version Support policy.

Does Talkdesk Workspace Desktop App perform better than the Web version?

In terms of performance, both versions share the same underlying technology. However, the Desktop App typically performs better when users have multiple browser tabs open, as it operates as a standalone instance without competing browser processes.

Do you have a Workspace Desktop App version for Linux?

No. Currently, Talkdesk only offers Workspace Desktop versions for Windows and MacOS.

Does the Keep-on-top feature work on MacOS when the user maximizes another app window?

No. This is due to how MacOS handles maximized windows. When a user maximizes another app, the OS creates a new virtual desktop, moving all other apps—including Talkdesk—out of view, regardless of the keep-on-top setting.Note: Exiting full screen from the maximized app restores all applications to the original desktop window.
