August 14, 2023 

On Monday, August 14th, 2023, we will release the following new features for Talkdesk Phone™.

New:

  • CC - UC calls, transfers, and consultations: Now, Agents can use Conversations app to search for and make calls, transfers, and consultations to Phone users and ring groups, on-net, without added costs.

  • User impersonation to access Emergency Settings: Admins will now have a URL on Phone Admin/Users/Phone Settings that will enable them to access users’ Emergency Settings and complete them on their behalf, for compliance with the E911 requirements.

August 4, 2023

On Friday, August 4th, 2023, we will release the following new feature to Talkdesk Phone™.

New:

  • Integration with Explore reporting: On accounts with Talkdesk Phone, administrators can now consult the detailed usage of Talkdesk Phone using TD Phone Call Reports on Explore.

June 30, 2023

On Friday, June 30th, 2023, we will release the following new feature to Talkdesk Phone™.

New:

  • Network Announcements (early media): Now, the establishment of outbound calls will sound the existing ringing tone followed by the network’s ringing signal. All announcements from the network in case of failure or unavailability of the number or destination will also be played.

February 24, 2023

On Friday, February 24th, 2023, we will release the following new features to Talkdesk Phone™.

New:

  • Set Ring group DID as outbound caller ID: Now, members of a Phone ring group can select and use the ring group’s DID (Direct Inward Dialing) as their outbound caller ID.

  • Edit user email: Admins are now able to update a Phone user’s email on the user’s profile page of the Phone Admin app.

October 11, 2022

On Tuesday, October 11th, 2022, we will make the following updates in Talkdesk Phone™.

New:

  • Talkdesk Phone and UC Admin app rebranding:Both the Phone and UC Admin apps’ User Interface (UI) will be updated in accordance with the latest Talkdesk rebranding.

  • Talkdesk UC Admin app renaming: The “UC Admin” app will be renamed to “Phone Admin”. All references to “UC” (Unified Communications) in the app will now be replaced with “Phone”.

September 21, 2022

On Wednesday, September 21st, 2022, we will release the following new features for Talkdesk Phone™.

 

New:

EU Regional cloud: We now have the ability to deploy and use Talkdesk Phone in Europe instances, supporting 24 countries.

  • Feature parity: For deployments in the EU, Phone supports all the existing features except emergency calls. BYOC and multi-language support are also unavailable at the moment. 

List of supported countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

 

Phone app:

  • User default country code: You are now able to define your default country code in the User settings page. This allows you to dial numbers in their national format without the need for including the respective country code.
  • Call forward: You can set and forward your incoming calls to a number of your choice in the user Settings page or using short codes via the Keypad or SIP devices.

UC Admin app:

  • Ring groups: Now, Phone allows for the creation of ring groups with up to ten members, enabling groupings of users for simultaneously ringing via the same extension or Direct Inward Dialing (DID) number.

On Monday, June 6th, 2022, we will release the following new features for Talkdesk Phone™.

New:

Phone app:

  • Home - Outbound Caller ID selection: Now the contacts tab in the keypad has the Outbound Caller ID selection dropdown.
  • The Dashboard and Configurations pages merged into Settings: Both are now in a single Settings page, improving user experience and adding scalability.
  • User default country code: You are able to define your default country code in the User settings page. This allows you to dial numbers in their national format without the need for including the respective country code.
  • Call forward: You can set and forward your incoming calls to a number of your choice in the user Settings page or using short codes via the Keypad or SIP devices.

 

UC Admin app:

  • Ability for admins to configure users’ settings: You can consult and set multiple settings in each respective user’s UC Settings page:
    • Outbound caller ID.
    • Call waiting.
    • Default country code.
    • Call forward.
    • Do not disturb.
  • UC settings - User voicemail pin & greeting reset: You are able to reset the voicemail pin and greeting of any user in the respective UC Settings tab in the UC Admin App.

On Tuesday, February 8th, 2022, we will release the following new features for Talkdesk Phone™.

 

New:

UC Admin app:

  • UC & CC Users listing: Admins will now be able to consult and manage the UC settings of users that have been extended from CC to Phone. 
  • Delete users: Admins will now be able to delete UC users and UC admins.

January 5, 2022

On Wednesday, January 5th, we will release new features and enhancements for Talkdesk Phone™.

 

New:

Phone app:

  • Alert incoming calls: Incoming calls will now trigger Browser and Electron notifications that, if clicked, will bring you to the incoming call screen.
  • Activity badge: Incoming and ongoing calls will be signaled with an activity badge.

 

UC Admin app:

  • Number Assignment: Through the user’s UC settings page, administrators will now be able to assign DIDs to Phone users from the available pool of numbers in the account.

On Monday, September 27th, 2021, we will release Talkdesk Phone™.

Talkdesk Phone™ is a modern cloud telephony system that enables the unification of your business telephony and contact center communications. It’s a single application designed, specifically, to break down organizational silos and foster a customer-centric culture of collaboration.

Phone is built for non-agent persons and is available as part of Talkdesk CX Cloud. It provides core telephony features such as: Personal DIDs, extensions, and a personal voicemail box. Phone includes a directory of other Phone users, a multi-call experience, conference calls, call forwarding, and transfers.

Administrators can easily manage Phone users and SIP devices, and streamline business processes through one administration interface, also seamlessly integrated in the Talkdesk CX Cloud.

 

What’s included

This release includes the Talkdesk Phone app, which targets users and includes the following core communication features:

 

Personal User features

  • 3-6 Digit Extensions
  • Optional DIDs
  • Personal Voicemail box
  • Do Not Disturb
  • Call forwarding
  • Call Waiting 
  • Edit E911 locations

 

Call Controls

  • Phone Directory with click-to-call
  • Call History
  • Mute, Hold, Keypad, Blind Transfers
  • Handle multiple inbound and outbound callers, with up to 3 simultaneous calls
  • Conference calls with up to 10 participants

 

E911

Phone supports E911 and complies with Kari’s Law and Ray Baum’s Act. With it, users can:

  • Configure up to 10 addresses for location tracking;
  • Configure a location for SIP devices separate from the location of the Web/Desktop application.

 

UC Administration

 Phone admins can manage Phone users, extensions, numbers, and SIP devices. They are also able to:

  • Create and update user profiles;
  • Update extensions, assign numbers and SIP devices;
  • Create SIP devices, obtain credentials, and assign to users.
