Product Notice: Seat Manager - Talkdesk for Microsoft Teams [Effective Jan 23, 2026]

Summary: As of January 23, 2026, Manage Seats will be used to manage seats for Talkdesk for Microsoft Teams. Charges may apply for customers who exceed their licensed seats.

What is changing and why

Admins can now track and assign user licenses for Talkdesk for Microsoft Teams alongside our AI and CRM integrations. By centralizing seat management, Talkdesk ensures that only authorized users are configured, ensuring organizational compliance and optimizing seat utilization.

Action required from customers

​​To ensure that all intended users are allocated a seat appropriately, admins must follow these steps:

  • Go to the Admin panel and select Subscription. Select the Manage Seats button for Talkdesk for Microsoft Teams license.
  • Manage Seats will open on the side panel. Select the users to be assigned a seat by selecting/unselecting users. 
  • Click Save to apply changes and confirm the action in the following pop-up message.

Note: 

  • If no action is taken, all active users will keep their assigned seats. As a result, customers might exceed the number of licensed seats and will be prompted with a warning message to purchase additional seats.
  • Admins can continue to access Talkdesk for Microsoft Teams without an assigned seat for configuration and administrative purposes. However, access to functional capabilities such as Presence Sync, Call Routing, and other user-level features will be restricted to users with an assigned seat.

Important dates

  • January 23, 2026: Manage Seats will be released for Talkdesk for Microsoft Teams across regions.
  • January 23, 2026, until April 22, 2026: Customers must use this time to review their current licensing. Customers who exceed their licensed seats will still be able to continue using the product without disruptions.
  • April 22, 2026: Feature restrictions for users without a licensed seat will begin. View and Call Microsoft Teams users within the Talkdesk Colleagues tab will no longer be possible.
  • May 14, 2026: Unlicensed users will cease to have access, and customers exceeding their allotted user count will be charged for the additional users.
