Summary: Deprecation of Custom Components in Talkdesk Studio.
Impacted customers: All accounts with Custom Components in place over their Studio Flows & Modules.
What is changing and why
In Studio, we are deprecating the ability to create and use custom components. From January 6, 2026, on, all custom components will need to be replaced by a connection, leveraging our Talkdesk resources in a more reliable and secure way, as well as bringing more autonomy to clients.
Impact
Users will no longer be able to run their custom components, leading to broken flows & Modules and impact over their system if not replaced by Connections. All accounts utilizing this capability will be affected, requiring relevant roles to ensure they have the right permissions to create and manage connections. With the required changes, users will not have any additional impact on their flows.
Action required
With the deprecation of Custom Components, Talkdesk has created this migration guide to help you seamlessly transition to Connections & Actions within Studio Flows and modules. This involves replacing your existing Custom Components with the Execute Action component tied to a newly created action.
-
Step 1 – Create a Connection
Go to Builder > Integrations and set up a new custom integration. For detailed instructions, follow this Knowledge Base article and the related Talkdesk Academy Training. -
Step 2 – Create an Action
Once your Connection is ready, create a new Action. Guidance is available in this Knowledge Base article. -
Step 3- Test your Action
After the creation of your Action, you should test the correct functionality. Check this Knowledge Base article to learn more of how to test it. -
Step 4 – Update Studio Flows & Modules
Replace the Custom Component in your flows and modules with the new Action using the Execute Action component. Be sure the exits match those of the original Custom Component. For additional support, see this Knowledge Base article and the Talkdesk Academy Training.
After completing these steps, your migration is done—your Flows and Modules are updated and future-ready.
Time and Duration
Deprecation will occur on January 6, 2026.
