On September 25th, 2025, Talkdesk is implementing new email validation rules to enhance data integrity and platform security by preventing the use of malformed email addresses.
Impacted customers
All accounts with users whose email addresses contain leading or trailing spaces, line breaks, tab characters, or carriage returns. New users will not be able to register using non-compliant email addresses.
What is changing and why
Effective September 25, 2025, email addresses used to log into your Talkdesk accounts must not contain leading or trailing blank spaces, line breaks, tabs, or carriage returns. This update is intended to improve data integrity and enhance platform security. A non-compliant email address is one that includes these elements, as well as multiple consecutive dots, a missing “@” symbol, or invalid characters (e.g., , ; / \ <> ()). Users with non-compliant email addresses will still be able to log in but will be unable to update their account settings until the issue is corrected.
Impact
- Existing users with non-compliant emails will still be able to log in, but will not be able to edit their user settings until their email address is corrected.
- Error messages will be displayed in the Users app UI, stating that the email field is invalid and needs to be corrected.
Time and Duration
The new validation rules will be introduced system-wide on 25/09/2025.
Action required from customers
Customers with users whose email addresses do not meet the new validation criteria will need to correct their email address in their user profile to regain the ability to edit other fields. Please follow the steps described here.
