Summary: On January 5, 2026, the ability to assign ring groups to individual users in the Teams App will end. Today, the Users App offers this same functionality along with enhanced capabilities and filtering. This change will require those using Teams App to set up necessary permissions in the Users app in order to manage ring group assignments in the Users app.
Impacted customers: All accounts using the Teams app to associate ring groups with individual users are impacted by this change. An external notice will be sent to affected accounts.
What is changing and why
In the Teams App, we are deprecating the ability to associate a ring group with an individual user. From January 5, 2026, on, all assignments of ring groups to individual contributors will be managed via the Users app, leveraging its enhanced user management capabilities and advanced filtering.
Impact
Users will no longer find the option to assign ring groups to individual users directly within the Teams app; this action will now be exclusively performed in the Users app. All accounts utilizing this capability will be affected, requiring relevant roles to ensure they have "View" and "Assign ring group" permissions within the Users app to continue managing these assignments.
Action required from customers
Customers must take action before January 5, 2026.
