Overview
The Reference Hub lets you manage structured data dynamically without editing or republishing your Talkdesk Studio flows. To manage large datasets efficiently, you can use the built-in Export and Import tools to back up configurations, make bulk updates, or migrate structures.
- Export Functionality: Allows you to download your existing Reference Tables in either CSV or JSON formats. The Hub also tracks your download history so you can monitor past exports.
- Import Functionality: Supports bulk imports. You can also download a template file that comes inside a ZIP folder. From there, you can populate your data and upload it as a CSV or JSON file. This functionality means you don't have to manually type in data row by row instead, you can use bulk actions to either import an entirely new table or add/update individual rows within an existing table all at once. Admins can choose their preferred format (CSV or JSON) to upload large datasets into the system all at once.
How to Export
Navigate to Reference Hub
Open the reference hub, and look for the desired reference table to be exported and click on the menu option from the right side of the bar.
Select File Format: CSV or JSON.
Locate your target table, click the options menu, and choose Export. Select either CSV or JSON based on your needs.
Download & Track:
Click on Export Management from the top. To see past activity or re-download files, check the History tab within the Reference Hub.
How to Import a Table
Create table:
Click on Create table and choose Import table from the options.
Download ZIP Template: (Optional)
Go to the Reference Hub, click Import, and download the starter ZIP template containing the required sample structure data.
Prepare Your File: Choose CSV or JSON.
Extract the ZIP file and fill out the template using your preferred file format (CSV or JSON).
Map Data Types: Required for CSV Only.
If you are using the CSV format, you must manually map your data types to your specific table columns during the upload to ensure correct system translation and add more details for the reference table like name, description, and team scoping.
5. Upload & Validate:
You can also Drag and drop your finalized file into the import window and click the Import reference table to process the bulk data update.
How to Import Table Rows
Select a table:
Select a table from the Reference hub and click on Import rows.
Import the file:
Import the updated exported file or the new rows file here and click on Import rows.
Import successful:
If the exported table already had rows, the new rows added will be on top of the existing rows in the updated uploaded file.
Note: Unique identifier Key Fields cannot be edited inline during a live import. If a key needs to be changed, add a completely new data row within your import file; otherwise, the existing row will be overridden.
