We’ve introduced a modernized approach for managing enterprise telephony voice settings. Talkdesk's enhanced enterprise telephony voice settings allow organizations to manage global telephony settings with predictable accuracy, ensuring every call routes efficiently, securely, and predictably.
What is included in Voice Settings?
Voice Settings serve as the foundational engine for global telephony management. Administrators use a set of self-service tools to define organizational sites, manage call restrictions, define dial plans, and register Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) devices in real-time.
Central to these settings are Sites. This structure centralizes geographic, dialing, and compliance policies. It allows for consistent control across global business units while maintaining granular, user-level flexibility.
Key Features
- Logical User Grouping: Simplifies management by grouping users based on location or business unit to maintain consistent telephony properties.
- Policy Inheritance: Ensures users automatically adopt Site policies for Caller ID, default Calling Privileges, and Dial Plans.
- Global Dialing Fabric: Provides seamless connectivity by enabling direct extension dialing between global Sites using unique Site Prefixes.
- Automated Compliance: Enforces calling policies for Premium Rate, International, and Long Distance calls by default to prevent unnecessary costs and risks.
- Geographic Context: Automatically determines dialing rules based on the physical Site address.
- User-Level Overrides: Allows administrators to adjust specific policies for individual user profiles when unique privileges are required.
-
Intelligent Dial Plan: A centralized engine that interprets every dialed number to determine the precise routing path for internal and external calls.
Use Cases
- Centralizing Administrative Control: Administrators only have to define policies once and apply them to large groups instantly, which significantly reduces overhead.
-
Regional Compliance: Geographic context ensures accurate call classification.
Managing Hybrid Devices: Administrators can register and configure "Common Area" devices associated with a Site.
