June 12, 2026 - SIP Device Management

On Friday, June 12th, 2026, we will start a progressive rollout of SIP Device Management in Talkdesk Admin. Administrators will now be able to provision, configure, and manage Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) devices across their organization from a single, centralized interface, eliminating the need for manual, per-device setup and reducing reliance on on-site support.

What's New

SIP Device Management

Talkdesk Admin now includes a dedicated SIP Device Management capability, enabling administrators to manage their organization's SIP device fleet from end to end. The following capabilities are available:

  • Centralized Device Provisioning: Administrators can provision SIP devices automatically upon power-on or factory reset, using Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP). This eliminates manual configuration steps and accelerates deployment at scale.
  • Bulk Provisioning: Administrators can provision multiple SIP devices simultaneously, reducing the time and effort required for large-scale rollouts.
  • Centralized Configuration Management: All device configurations are managed from a single interface, with support for organization-level, location-level, and individual device-level settings. Configuration templates allow administrators to standardize settings across the fleet.
  • Bulk Firmware Upgrades: Administrators can schedule and execute firmware updates for groups of devices or the entire fleet during defined maintenance windows, with full tracking of update status.
  • Remote Device Control: Administrators can remotely reboot or factory reset SIP devices, reducing the need for on-site intervention and accelerating issue resolution.
  • Centralized Asset Inventory: A real-time inventory tracks all SIP devices, including MAC addresses, assigned users, current firmware versions, and physical locations.
  • Policy-Based Feature Control: Administrators can define and enforce communication policies such as enabling or disabling call forwarding or restricting international dialing based on user roles or group affiliations.
  • Automated Device Decommissioning: Administrators can remotely wipe configuration data from retired devices before disposal or redeployment, ensuring no sensitive data remains on the device.

Note: SIP Device Management will be enabled by default for all new customers. Existing customers may request access on an ad-hoc basis, subject to approval.
