Talkdesk Voice Platform introduces a framework for managing global telephony across an organization. As part of this experience, Talkdesk Voice Platform powers the modernized and centralized architecture that enables scalable, secure, and predictable voice management. Administrators can configure Sites as foundational building blocks to define geographic context, dial plans, call restrictions, caller ID policies, extensions, and SIP device assignments.

August 3, 2026 - Talkdesk Voice Platform: General Availability
Note: Talkdesk Voice Platform is available to new customers onboarding from August 3, 2026. Existing customers interested in enabling these features should contact their Talkdesk representative.
On Monday, August 3rd, 2026, Talkdesk Voice Platform (formerly known as Voice Settings) reaches General Availability (GA).
Talkdesk Voice Platform establishes a policy-driven framework for enterprise telephony operations. By introducing Sites as the foundational administrative structure, organizations can centralize location-based policies, streamline device management, automate compliance, and maintain a global dialing architecture, removing the need for Admins to configure user settings individually.
What's New
- Site-Based Policy Framework: Group users and devices logically by physical location or business unit. Key properties, including local time zones, emergency addresses, default outbound caller IDs, and auto-assigned extension ranges, are defined once at the site level and inherited automatically by all members.
- Granular Call Restrictions & Automated Compliance: Restrict specific call categories (International, Premium Rate, Long Distance, and Inter-site) at the site level, with optional user-level overrides for designated roles, enabling automatic compliance and cost-control policies.
- Unified Global Dialing: Connect global offices using structured extension dialing. Intra-site calls use direct short extensions, while inter-site dialing uses unique Site Prefixes to connect teams across different countries.
- Centralized Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Device Operations: Register, authenticate, and manage physical Internet Protocol (IP) desk phones and virtual softphones from a single workspace. Devices can function as Common Area endpoints bound to a site, or in Companion Mode, which pairs a physical device for call audio with digital call controls in Conversations.
- Deterministic Dial Plan & Pattern Engine: Have full control over number interpretation before routing. Construct custom rules using Number Manipulation Patterns (Strip, Prepend, Append, and Replace with variable capture groups) and Custom Patterns (Block lists, OffNet routing, and SIP Trunking to external PBX or UCaaS platforms).

June 12, 2026 - SIP Device Management
On Friday, June 12th, 2026, we will start a progressive rollout of SIP Device Management in Talkdesk Admin. Administrators will now be able to provision, configure, and manage Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) devices across their organization from a single, centralized interface, eliminating the need for manual, per-device setup and reducing reliance on on-site support.
What's New
SIP Device Management
Talkdesk Admin now includes a dedicated SIP Device Management capability, enabling administrators to manage their organization's SIP device fleet from end to end. The following capabilities are available:
- Centralized Device Provisioning: Administrators can provision SIP devices automatically upon power-on or factory reset, using Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP). This eliminates manual configuration steps and accelerates deployment at scale.
- Bulk Provisioning: Administrators can provision multiple SIP devices simultaneously, reducing the time and effort required for large-scale rollouts.
- Centralized Configuration Management: All device configurations are managed from a single interface, with support for organization-level, location-level, and individual device-level settings. Configuration templates allow administrators to standardize settings across the fleet.
- Bulk Firmware Upgrades: Administrators can schedule and execute firmware updates for groups of devices or the entire fleet during defined maintenance windows, with full tracking of update status.
- Remote Device Control: Administrators can remotely reboot or factory reset SIP devices, reducing the need for on-site intervention and accelerating issue resolution.
- Centralized Asset Inventory: A real-time inventory tracks all SIP devices, including MAC addresses, assigned users, current firmware versions, and physical locations.
- Policy-Based Feature Control: Administrators can define and enforce communication policies such as enabling or disabling call forwarding or restricting international dialing based on user roles or group affiliations.
- Automated Device Decommissioning: Administrators can remotely wipe configuration data from retired devices before disposal or redeployment, ensuring no sensitive data remains on the device.
Note: SIP Device Management will be enabled by default for all new customers. Existing customers may request access on an ad-hoc basis, subject to approval.

[Preview] February 26, 2026 - Enhanced Enterprise Telephony Voice Settings
Note: Available in Preview for select customers.
On Thursday, February 26th, 2026, we are releasing enhanced enterprise telephony voice settings.
This rollout provides organizations with a centralized area to manage global telephony settings with precision, ensuring every call routes efficiently, securely, and predictably.
This preview release includes a set of self-service tools to define organizational sites, call restrictions, manage advanced dial plans, and register Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) devices in real-time.
New:
- Global Site Management: Organize users according to their geographical location and assign location-specific telephony properties, such as time zones, emergency addresses, site prefixes, and location-specific dialing rules.
- Call Restrictions: Control costs and security by enabling or disabling specific call types, including International, Premium, Long Distance, Inter-site, or to specific numbers or patterns, at the site or user level.
- Extension Dialing: Support for internal inter-site and intra-site dialing to connect users directly across a global organization.
- SIP Devices: Register hardware directly to Talkdesk as standalone devices for shared, Common Area spaces, or use "Companion Mode" to pair hardware media with the Talkdesk interface.
- Flexible Dial Plans: Custom dial plans to define and enable organizationally specific dialing behaviors. This includes features such as access codes, short codes, number manipulations, and number transformations.
