Text-to-Speech Voice Settings

The admin can select the voice in each language that best suits the business’s needs. There are three voice options:

  • Standard – primarily for testing purposes,
  • Advanced – for a more natural Text-to-Speech experience,
  • Premium – offering the highest-quality voices.

Text-to-Speech voices on the Advanced and Premium plans are powered by Amazon Polly, delivering more natural-sounding speech and enhanced control over voice parameters.

Note: The usage costs of the voices depend on their Plan (Standard, Advanced, and Premium). If you have any questions about these costs, please check your rate card’s details or contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Talkdesk point of contact. 

 

Accessing voice settings

To access voices set for the studio languages, the admin can go to the Admin-> Channels-> Voice-> Text to Speech voices management tab.

The default voice for each language will be a "Female" voice from the Standard plan when available. If a Standard option is unavailable, an Advanced plan voice will be used, and if Advanced is unavailable, a Premium voice will be selected. 

 

Edit a language voice

The voice used by a language in Studio can be changed anytime. To change the default voice for a language, please edit the specific language.

The newly selected voice for a language will be applied to all steps using that language in the next Studio executions.
