Knowledge Management: Turning External Insights into Knowledge Cards

Bridging the gap between external documentation and your internal Knowledge Base can be done within the Knowledge Management interface. Instead of manually copying data, you can directly extract content from your connected sources to create actionable cards for your agents.

Discovering Content

The process begins in the External Sources section, specifically within the Search content tab. Here, you can query all your integrated files (e.g., remote_test_file ) by typing a keyword like "Real Estate" into the search bar. Once the relevant search results appear, selecting a file opens a dedicated preview pane on the right, allowing you to review the document's details without leaving the page.

Creating the Card

To turn this raw information into a Knowledge Card, you must first toggle the "Enable content selection for card creation" setting to the ON position within the preview pane. This activates the ability to highlight specific strings of text directly within the document.

Once you have highlighted the necessary information, a + Create card prompt will appear. Clicking this prompt automatically generates a new draft, instantly porting your selected text into the first variation of the card.

Finalizing the Knowledge Asset

With the draft open, you can then add the finishing professional touches. This includes defining a clear, searchable subject title—such as "Real Estate Card"—and organizing the asset with relevant tags or channel permissions. By clicking Save Draft, you successfully convert external data into a structured internal resource, complete with a reference back to the source file.

Important Note: Please keep in mind that when creating a card from an external article, it will be static and will not be automatically updated once the article is updated. The card only functions as a snapshot of the article at that specific moment.
