Local Number Requirements & Restrictions: Calling Mainland China

Due to strict traffic profile monitoring by local network operators in Mainland China, designed to reduce telemarketing and unwanted calls, only calls made from true local numbers or approved international numbers can be completed successfully through Talkdesk.

 

Required Documentation for True Local Numbers

To provision and use local numbers in China, the following documentation must be provided. Examples/templates of these documents are available at the bottom of the page for download, in PDF format.

Note: All documents must comply with local regulations. Incomplete or incorrect documentation may result in the failure to provision local numbers.

 

Restrictions & Limitations for Calls to Mainland China

When making calls to Mainland China via Talkdesk, the following rules apply:

  1. Call Duration: Calls shorter than 3 minutes are not permitted.
  2. Marketing Calls: No unsolicited marketing calls are allowed.
  3. High-Volume Restrictions: Repeated calls from the same origination number within a rolling hour are restricted.
  4. Origination Numbers: Calls must not originate from invalid, modified, spoofed, or restricted numbers.
  5. International Calls: Calls must originate from a true local number or approved international number; masked or non-local numbers may be rejected.
