Uploading Contacts with Contact Importer

To upload a CSV list of Contacts into Talkdesk, follow these steps:

Note: This CSV template must be used exactly as provided. Do not remove, rename, or reorder any columns. If no data is available for a specific field, leave the cell blank. The file format, structure, and column order must remain unchanged. All requirements must be followed for the action to work as expected.

  1. Prepare the CSV file to import, which must follow the columns (values) shown in our template. It must also explicitly use the UTF-8 encoding format when being saved.
  2. Select the Builder section [1].
  3. Select the Integrations tab [2].
  4. If this is your first time importing contacts:
    • Select Browse Integrations [3]
    • Search for "Contact Importer", and click the Add button [4].
    • Click the Choose a text/CSV file to upload button or drag and drop a file [5] and locate the CSV file you prepared in step 1.
    • Specify the tag that will be used for all the contacts imported from the CSV file [6].
    • Check the boxes next to "Synchronize Contacts" and "Contact Types" [7].
    • Click the Save button, and the import process will start.

 

  1. If you have installed Contact Importer before and are importing a new file:
    • Select My Integrations [3]
    • Search for "Contact Importer", and click the Edit button [4].
    • Go to the Settings tab [5] and click on the Edit button [6].
    • This will take you to the Integration configuration page. You can follow the steps 5-9 in section 1.
    • After saving the integration, click on the Sync contacts button [7].

Notes:

  •  
    • Contacts are de-duped based on phone number and email address.
    • Uploads will take some time to process and appear in your account (it takes approximately one hour to process 10,000 contacts).
