Automating tasks in your Bigcommerce Integration


With automated tasks, your agents can stay busy handling calls without having to go back and forth updating two systems with redundant information.

You can create the following rules to keep agent busy work to a minimum:

  • When a contact is created in Talkdesk, create customer in Bigcommerce
  • When a contact is updated in Talkdesk, update customer in Bigcommerce

These automated tasks will help to streamline customer interactions and enhance the quality of service your team provides to customers.

To configure an automated task:

  • Login to your Talkdesk account as an Administrator.
  • Click the “Admin” section [1].
  • Select the “Integrations” tab and click the Bigcommerce “Settings” button [2].
  • Press the “Add your first automated task for Slack” (if you’re adding your first automation) or “Add New Automated Task” button [3].
  • Customize the automated task according to your needs:

Let’s walk through an example of creating the automated task: “When a contact is created in Talkdesk, create the contact in Bigcommerce” [4].

Select the event, "When a contact it created" in Talkdesk [5] then the action, "create customer" in [6]. Talkdesk will then automatically create a contact in Bigcommerce each time your team creates a contact in Talkdesk.

You can customize the contact details to be sent to Bigcommerce by dragging the relevant fields into the text boxes, such as:

  • Contact first name: {{contact.first_name}} (drag the “Contact first name” trigger field) [7]
  • Contact last name: {{contact.last_name}} (drag the “Contact last name” trigger field) [8]
  • Email: {{}} (drag the “Contact email” trigger field) [9]
  • Contact phone: {{}} (drag the “Contact phone” trigger field) [10]
  • Company: {{}} (drag the “Contact company” trigger field) [11]

Once done, click 'Save' to activate the automated task. You can disable this trigger by turning it off anytime [12].
