The time it takes to port varies:
- US: 48 hours to 3 weeks
- UK: 6 weeks
- Canada: 4-6 weeks
- Germany/Australia: up to 8 weeks
- All other beta locations: up to 8 weeks
- Bulk ports (50 or more): up to 8 weeks
The most common port requests we receive are US ports, for which the porting process takes between 2 and 4 weeks from when we receive the required documentation from you. However, please note that there have been some instances of the porting process being completed in 48h. The amount of time varies depending on the carriers involved. Any rejection by the carriers due to incorrectly submitted information can cause delays.
For US porting requests, your phone numbers are pre-added into your Talkdesk account by our porting team a few days after the request is submitted. We do this so you can configure your numbers in preparation for the actual porting date.
For all other countries, we only pre-add your phone numbers into your Talkdesk account when we receive a preliminar porting date from our telecom provider. This should still give you enough time to configure your numbers.
To minimize the amount of time it takes for the number to port we suggest that you pro-actively contact your carrier first to inform them of your intention to port and request a Customer Service Record (CSR) before submitting your porting forms. Details do need to match 100% otherwise the port will be rejected by the carrier.
