Product Announcement: New Talkdesk Academy Workspace App and Update to Authentication Method

We’re excited to announce two important Talkdesk Academy enhancements: Talkdesk Academy App in Workspace for a more integrated learning experience, and a new password authentication method, instead of the current login code sent via email.

 

Key Details - Talkdesk Academy App in Workspace

Talkdesk Academy will be available directly within Talkdesk Workspace as a pre-installed app for all customers. This is the first step for a more integrated learning experience, allowing customers to stay in Talkdesk Workspace for onboarding and ongoing product training.

Time

On February 27, 2023, this new Academy app will be made available to all customers as part of the Spring ‘23 Release.

What action is required?

Login

New customers attempting to use the Talkdesk Academy app within Workspace for the first time will need to register to access Talkdesk Academy. For returning customers who have already set an Academy password, they will enter their company email address and password to access Talkdesk Academy content. At this time, SSO is not available. 

 

Login - Customers that Forgot Password or Need to Set a New Password

Customers that forgot their password or that are using Talkdesk Academy before a password was required (see the update on Password Authentication Method below) will click Login, then click on Forgot password? and follow the instructions. Once the customer resets the password in their browser, they can click on Back to login to start their session in the Workspace Web or Desktop versions.

Key Details - Password Authentication Method

Talkdesk Academy will change the authentication method to require a password, instead of the current login code sent via email. This change will enable a better authentication experience by reducing the need to leave the platform and check the email inbox for the login code to access Talkdesk Academy. 

Time

Change to password authentication method will be implemented by February 27, 2023.

 

What is the impact of this change?

Customers already registered in Talkdesk Academy

Customers that are already using Talkdesk Academy will need to reset their password to access training content. An instructional message will be available on the Login page.

What action is required?

Customers already registered in Talkdesk Academy

Customers that are already using Talkdesk Academy will need to set a password. Since they are already registered, customers will need to click on Forgot password?, set a new password, and follow the instructions sent to their email address.

Once they set their password, they will have access to Talkdesk Academy with no further required actions.

 

New Customers registering in Talkdesk Academy

Customers new to Talkdesk Academy will register their account by filling in a form asking for their name, company email address, password, preferred language, and role.

Once customers complete this registration, they will automatically have access to Talkdesk Academy training content.
