To improve the performance of the Talkdesk Workspace Desktop application, we will be deploying enhancements to versions 1.5.0 and above on January 25th, 2023.
As a result, the Talkdesk team strongly recommends upgrading to the last version (1.7.1) to benefit from the most recent changes and improvements.
What are the key benefits for upgrading?
The most significant change regarding the user interface was introduced in version 1.5.0 by adding a title bar that provides more intuitive access to the Notification Center, User Profile, and User Status.
Other important changes have been added with each release, including bug fixing, new features, and improvements regarding performance, observability, and UI/UX. Visit the compiled version of the Workspace Desktop Release Notes to learn what has been added from the version that you are on.
What are the impacts to users without the latest version?
Users still on version 1.4.0 and below will see the updated Workspace interface, but will not benefit from the performance updates and benefits outlined above. Additionally, users on 1.4.0 and below will see the OS title bar frame, which is automatically removed with an update to the latest version. No existing features or functionality will not be removed with this update.
When are the changes taking place?
The performance improvements will be deployed to all customers on January 25th, 2023.
Is there action required?
We highly recommend that all users update to the latest version of the Workspace Desktop app. While these changes will apply directly to versions 1.5.0 and above, taking a moment to update ensures that you have the most stable version of the software.
