How can we Help?

Porting International Numbers to Talkdesk

Follow

To port International numbers to Talkdesk please send us an email to porting@talkdesk.com with the subject "Number port request" and with the country the number(s) belongs to and do the following:

Process for UK numbers:

1. Please download, sign and attach this letter of authority for UK geographic numbers (starting with 01 and 02), or this one for non-geographic numbers (starting with 03 and 08), to the email. Also, please make sure that you fill out the non-geographic LOA digitally, instead of being handwritten, and place your logo on the top of the document. This needs to be signed by the person who has administrative rights over the account with the current carrier.

2. Send us a recent receipt or bill of the phone number from your current provider, clearly showing the number and thus proving that it’s yours.

3. Your Company's Name, or first and last name (for residential porting).

4. Company's Address or Residential Address. Please make sure that the address is in the UK, as most of the providers based in the UK require one in order to the porting request to go through.

Process for Australian numbers:

1. Please download, sign and attach this LOA for Australian requests. The document needs to be signed by the person who has administrative rights over the account with the current carrier.

2. Send us a recent receipt or bill of the phone number from your current provider, clearly showing the number and thus proving that it’s yours.

3. Company's Name, or first and last name (for residential ports).

4. Company's Address or Residential Address.

Process for remaining countries:

1. Let us know the country and the number(s) you wish to port in.

2. We will then confirm with our provider if it's possible to port the number(s) and will reply back with the necessary documentation.

To ensure that the request is not rejected:

Please note that if the documents are not compliant with the following guidelines, the porting request may be rejected, causing significant delays.

Although we are strongly committed to providing you with a smooth porting process, Talkdesk cannot be deemed responsible for any incorrect submissions and delays resulting from failure to comply with the guidelines.

  • Submit the document in PDF format
  • Submit it in the correct orientation (for instance, if the pages are upside down, the document will not be accepted)
  • All data must match exactly and be consistent with the record in the existing carrier
  • The name and address on both the LOA and the proof of ownership must match
  • The first/last name on the LOA (Letter of Authorization) must match the signature
  • The telephone numbers you wish to port must be clearly indicated
  • If asked for a RespOrg by the losing provider, ours is: TWI01

If your port request is rejected, check what could be the reason from the list of most common reasons.

How long does it take to port?

For a detailed explanation, please check our article "How long does it take to port my existing phone numbers?".

Always contact your carrier and let them know that you plan to port your number. Sometimes when a carrier is not informed, they may cancel your number before the port is completed and this can cause a short outage. You must ensure service is maintained with the existing carrier until the port is completed.

How are we meant to be able to comply with the requests for UK non-geographic numbers with a PDF - we can't amend or fill the document in (i.e. put the company logo on it) or ensure it is not handwritten?

Hello @Quaid Combstock, thank you for the comment. We suggest using a PDF editor to open the LOA and edit it digitally (for example, you can connect an app to Google Docs). If you have any more questions, please contact our team: porting@talkdesk.com
