Talkdesk for Salesforce - Winter 17 Release

What is happening?

Starting on September 9, 2016, Salesforce will begin rolling out its Winter 17 release to sandbox environments, with production environments following shortly thereafter. Most production orgs will be upgraded between Oct 8 through Oct 15; however, to see the exact date that your org will be upgraded, log in to Salesforce and take note of the first three letters of the URL - this will typically start with "NA" or "CS". Then, check the Salesforce release calendar to see when your org is scheduled for upgrade, based on this URL.

 

How will this impact Talkdesk for Salesforce?

We are actively testing the compatibility of Talkdesk for Salesforce with the Winter 17 release and tracking potential issues. We will release an update with resolutions for any issues once Salesforce has completed their rollout to all organizations. 

If you wish to test Talkdesk against a sandbox environment with Winter 17, it is important that you do not connect the sandbox to your Talkdesk production account. Contact Talkdesk Support to create a separate Talkdesk instance for use in sandboxes, if you do not already have one.

 

Are there any known issues?

Below are the key issues to be aware of at this time:

  • [Sept 8 2016] Although Winter 17 includes CTI support in Lightning, the Talkdesk CTI is not yet compatible with Lightning. Therefore, we recommend your agents continue to use Talkdesk in Classic or Console views.

We are currently working on an update to Talkdesk for Salesforce to include resolutions to the items above.

 

When will a compatibility update for Winter 17 be available?

We are actively working on an update to Talkdesk for Salesforce to ensure it is fully compatible with the Winter 17 release. This update will be available after Salesforce has released Winter 17 to all orgs. This includes updates for CTI Lightning support.
