Availability is at the core of our business, as we know how important it is for our customers to always be able to make and receive calls. With this in mind, our Salesforce CTI Widget “Use Phone” mode allows you to configure and use an external phone, so you can continue making and receiving calls also in the event of an internet outage or a system problem.
"Phone" mode will require you to input your external phone number via Talkdesk in order for it to be available in Salesforce. To do this:
- Log into your Talkdesk account.
- Click the agent's setting option on your top right corner.
- Add your desired phone number.
- Override account settings to allow routing of calls to your external device.
- Save the new configurations.
Once your external phone number is configured, simply select “Use Phone” mode from the ‘Phone’ drop down menu.
Now, when a new call comes in, your CTI Widget will ask if you wish to accept this call on phone:
Click to dial or enter a number on your CTI Widget to initiate a new call. Your external device will start ringing to indicate the call has been routed there. You can then accept and finish your calls using your external device:
